The School of Education has a long-standing reputation for excellence in research and teaching. We are a diverse community with students based locally, nationally and internationally.
We value teaching, scholarship and research that meets the highest of standards, is creative, increases learning opportunities and challenges educational inequalities.
High quality research
Through our research we aim to understand the nature of inequality in education. We have a well-established tradition for research in literacy, early childhood education, social inclusion and widening participation.
We welcome students and research partners who wish to share in our inclusive approach to teaching and learning and educational enquiry.
We offer a broad variety of courses and research opportunities. Our teaching is organized into two main areas:
1. The Department of Educational Studies
Initial Teacher Education, and Certificate, Diploma, Masters and Doctoral programmes.
