Our Courses?

Students in a Lecture

We offer a variety of IET accredited 3-year B.Eng. and 4-year M.Eng. degree programmes covering the wide spectrum that is Electronic and Electrical Engineering. All of these degree programmes share a common core of modules for the first two years. This gives a broad educational base in the subject, from which an informed decision can be made regarding future specialisation.

Your final choice of specialisation is made towards the end of Year 2 which is also the time when you select whether you intend to continue on a 4-year M.Eng. Degree or transfer to a 3-year B.Eng. degree programme.

B.Eng. or M.Eng. Degrees

M.Eng. degrees provide one year of further study which increases your knowledge in electronic and electrical engineering, making you more employable. Graduates with an M.Eng. degree also find it slightly easier to be a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) as the education requirement for professional registration are more readily satisfied.

Employment Experience

All of our degree programmes are available with an Employment Experience option where students elect to suspend their studies for one year to gain valuable hands-on work experience in industry. In recognition of this the graduate has the phrase “with Employment Experience” included on their degree certificate.

Electronic & Electrical Engineering With a Modern Language (H6T9)

In this degree students take a number modern language modules in addition to their regular studies. This provides value language skills training and is useful for those wanting to study for a year aboard.

Year Abroad

We offer students the opportunity to study with a number of institutions in Europe and further a field through the ERASMUS programme or other similar arrangements. Typically students would study Year 3 of their M.Eng. Degree at one of our partner institutions.

Foundation Year

The foundation year provides students who do not meet our entry requirements with the necessary education to join any of our degree programmes. An extra year is placed at the beginning of a degree course which is broadly equivalent studying A-level Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
