International Students

Recently the UK Government has launched a Science and Engineering Graduates Schemes (SEGS) that enables non-EEA international students graduating with a UK degree to remain in the UK up to 12 months to pursue a career. Please see below for further details.

There is also a wide variety of help and information open to you in your job hunt. Some of the sources discussed are available to take away from our Careers Service and others are for reference only. Other sources lie outside the service; one essential resource for careers information is the internet. Each source of help is discussed, with guidance on how to make the most of the information available. If you have difficulties with any of the suggested sources, please do not hesitate to seek help from the staff at the information desk in Reception.

Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme (SEGS)

The Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme (SEGS) was launched to invest in high achievers in engineering, mathematics and science to address the demand for skilled workers in sectors such as research and development and financial services. Under this scheme, non-EEA nationals who have graduated from UK higher or further education establishments in certain physical sciences, mathematics and engineering subjects. As a MSc. degree holder from our department you may be able to take advantage this opportunity to remain in the UK for 12 months after your studies in order to pursue a career.
