Key Facts - Management English

Description
Management English courses are recommended for students who would like to improve their knowledge of English in a business or management context. The course includes: Business Presentation Skills, Meetings and Negotiations, Business Vocabulary, Business Communication, Case Studies, Financial English and Economist Readings. Students can also choose from a range of options including preparation for IELTS and other externally recognised exams. This programme runs from September to June.
Programme Objectives
-To provide students with relevant practice in the skills and language awareness involved in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
-To help students to improve your General Communication Skills in English -To give students the opportunity to grow in confidence in using English in Business situations.
-To help students become more autonomous as a user of English
-To help students to fulfil any remaining conditions of entry to university or onto the summer pre-session programme (if you are going onto the Management School)
-To give students some insights into aspects of British culture.

Level IELTS (or equivalent) 5.0 (September start) or IELTS 5.5 (January start) to IELTS 7.5
Proof of English SELT (Secure English Language Test) and others.

Term 3: Teaching - Monday 23rd April – Friday 8th June 2012.

Location ELTC, 78 Hoyle Street.
Rooms ELTC rooms: specifically designed language classrooms with seating for a maximum of 25 students, equipped with audio-visual and computer technologies (interactive whiteboards).

Support Tutorial sysem - one tutorial every two weeks 15-30 minutes. Student surgeries every week with welfare officer and Programme Director.

Accommodation £119 per week homestay
Leisure and Social Educational day trips are free and weekend residential trips are around £50 to cover accommodation. A social programme is organised by the ELTC for students, with occasional entry fees paid by student (approx. £3-£7). Access to the University of Sheffield sports and activities as full member of the Students' Union.
