Key Facts - International Summer School - STUDY English PLUS Options (General English)

Description
The Study English PLUS Options (SEPO) is a practical language course with emphasis on comprehension and communication of contemporary English. The course runs for ten weeks. The minimum period of registration is three weeks. As a result, the membership of the groups varies to some extent during the course.
Programme Objectives
-Provide a supportive environment in which students can explore language areas and develop their skills
-Provide a coherent programme which meets students’ needs through lessons which focus on appropriately selected activities, tasks and materials
-Provide practice in all language areas with particular emphasis on speaking, listening and vocabulary development
-Enable students to broaden their knowledge of local and British life & culture

Support All students are part of a tutor group and the first line of support is their tutor, who provide tutorials every 2 weeks or as required. These can be academic or pastoral in nature. All students have access to see our welfare officer and the counselling services available in the Students' Union and University.

Leisure and Social Social progamme organised and many activities included in price, but students have to pay entrance fee of about £3-7 for some events e.g. ice-skating or cinema and £5 for Saturday coach trips to places such as Manchester, Blackpool or Whitby.
Financial Info Access to funds is determined when individual students apply and fees should be paid in full directly to the University within 2 week of arrival. Universities sending students who are part of a Study Group visit, are invoiced before they arrive. Students who do not complete their course are given a refund per weekly amount.
