STUDY English PLUS Options

The course is for students who wish to improve their general English skills in a British Academic Setting. They will improve all aspects of their English language in one of the UK’s leading universities, with full access to facilities, and experience life and culture in a multicultural city. As well as experiencing life in Britain, students will mix with students from around the world. This programme will be of great benefit to participants in their study and work at home and broaden their horizons in an increasingly internationalised world.

Students choose from a range of options for their afternoon classes. These offer a chance to develop skills in an area of individual interest.

25th June to 31st August 2012

The shortest period of study is 3 weeks, the longest is 10 weeks.

This course consists of 20 hours tuition per week. This is made up of:

  • General English Language Skills – 15 hours per week
  • Options classes – 5 hours per week

STUDY English

This part of the course consists of 15 hours per week of general English language developent. The following subjects are studied:
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Listening
  • Speaking
  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary

PLUS Options

Option classes (three afternoons per week) normally include:
  • Grammar and Vocabulary Consolidation
  • English for Business and Management
  • IELTS/USEPT preparation
  • Background to Britain
  • Social English and Pronunciation
Students choose these options after they arrive.
