Pronunciation
The purpose of the Pronunciation Course is to help you:
- Speak more clearly
- Increase your awareness of pronunciation features
- Provide you with strategies to help you improve outside the classroom
- Improve your listening (e.g. intonation, different accents)
There will be lots of opportunities to speak - mostly in pairs (exercises and role-play) to maximise the time available. You will also practise listening because you need to hear before you can produce sounds accurately.
You will get feedback from the teacher, from each other, and by using recording equipment. If you want, you can bring tape/minidisk or digital recorders to the class and use the material to practise at home (or on the bus/tram!)
The pronunciation course syllabus is 50% fixed core + 50% negotiated.
