At Sheffield we believe that excellence in teaching goes hand-in-hand with excellence in research. This means that while all of our academic staff publish at an international level, they also find innovative and exciting ways for students to engage with their cutting-edge work.

If you browse our academic staff pages you will find many examples of outstanding research that is made accessible to our students.

As you will see from the list, our research students are working on a wide range of different topics.  In addition to their individual work, they organise numerous activities. including the very successful 'Work in Progress' seminars.  As such they form an important part of the research culture of the School.

At the same time our technical and administrative staff keep the wheels of the School running smoothly. As a student, or prospective student, you will find them helpful and knowledgeable and keen to make your time at the School a rewarding one.
