As a student taking a degree programme in the School of English, you have the opportunity to spend all or part of your second year at one of our partner institutions abroad. There are two programmes which allow you to do this, Erasmus and Study Abroad. ErasmusThe School of English has links with other English departments in a number of European universities under the Erasmus European exchange programme. This programme allows students to spend one semester of their second year of undergraduate study in a European partner institution. Students follow courses, taught in English, equivalent to those they would normally be studying as part of their degree programme in Sheffield. The results they obtain while on the exchange count towards their final degree classification in the usual way. No extra tuition fees are payable and students may also receive a small grant from the European Union to help with travel and subsistence costs. Study AbroadThe Study Abroad programme offers the chance to spend part of your degree course in another country outside of the EU. We have exchange agreements with a number of universities in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore and the USA.
