For staff
As a University the move to a faculty has meant many changes, most of all has been the move from the old management structures to one of faculties that brings the decision-making closer to our departmental led research and teaching activities.
How does this model improve the University?
- more informed, quicker decision making for Heads of Departments
- there will be greater scope for open discussions and transparency
- the will be greater capacity and responsibility for local decision making
- faculties and departments will be able to be more agile
- PVCs and Heads of Departments will be able to progress new initiatives with greater confidence in the risks being taken locally and the locally-determined financial arrangements to support new activities
- there will be greater support for all those undertaking a management role (especially Heads of Departments)
- the external profile of the University can be developed by both the Faculty Pro Vice Chancellors and the cross cutting Pro Vice Chancellors for Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation and External Affairs.
- more manageable budgetary monitoring through a new faculty structure.
These pages are open, but are aimed at staff, and will be continuously update as the rest of the faculty structure evolves.
