First International Affairs Symposium
The Faculty of Social Sciences will convene the First International Affairs Symposium on Friday, 12 October 2012, in ICOSS.
The symposium is designed to encourage cross-disciplinary activities and to further international collaborations. Staff from all departments and schools across the Faculty will present research, lead discussion at sessions, and meet international visitors.
Plenary addresses include:
- Prof Alexey Maslov, Higher School of Economics, Moscow on 'Europe, Russia, and East Asia: Limits of Dialogue and the Search for a New Perception'
- Prof Jin Sato, University of Tokyo, 'Social Science of life and death: Reflecting on the 3.11 Tsunami in Japan'
- Prof Rebecca Hughes, PVC for International Affairs, on 'Making and sustaining international partnerships'
The preliminary programme is avalailable to download from the menu on the right. All staff and students are invited to all activities throughout the day. There is no registration fee, but those wishing to attend need to register by contacting Tony Ellis at a.ellis@sheffield.ac.uk.
