Faculty of Social Sciences Taster Days
Through the Faculty of Social Sciences Outreach Team, departments in the Faculty are offering taster days to local schools and colleges, highlighting the wonderful opportunities that studying Social Science subjects at the University of Sheffield can bring.
We're currently busy planning lots of activities for next year, including taster days at the university and visits to schools and colleges. From September you will start seeing more information on this webpage about the upcoming activities as well as how to book onto events. We hope that this webpage will be useful for pupils, students, parents and staff from schools and colleges.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is a large and diverse group of thirteen departments, including 'classical' social science departments, but also several other major subject areas, some of which are distinctive to Sheffield.

The taster days will also include general information about applying to the University, student finance, the chance to talk to current students about their experiences, and a guided tour of the campus.
All of our activities are FREE to attend and are aimed at pupils and students who would be in the first generation of their family to go to University, or who are from backgrounds that are under-represented in Higher Education.
We aim to raise aspirations, build confidence and help young people to make informed choices about their futures while learning about the benefits of studying at The University of Sheffield.
