Information about the Reporting - Employment Costs Reporting training

Profile Employment Cost Reporting (uBASE) (includes expenses reporting)
Level

Heads of Departments, budget holders, and Departmental Administrators requiring to monitor employment and expenses costs against budgets

Course also available to existing users requiring a refresher

Profile restrictions: the expenses reporting profile is always included with the employment cost reporting profile. Access to the employment cost reporting role is very limited and users should expect that additional checks will be made to ensure this profile is only issued to those who need it for financial control purposes

Course length The employment cost reporting course is a bespoke one-to-one course depending on the needs of the individual(s)
Pre-requisites
  1. You must have some basic navigational skills on uBASE which should be provided by your departmental colleagues or line manager. uSpace for Basics in Navigation also provides general guidance documentation on using uBASE and understanding how to navigate around the system

Course objectives

Assuming prior knowledge of uBASE, the course will cover:

  • Understand the financial year and financial periods used at the University
  • How to run the expenses report for a cost centre or WBS account
  • How to run the expenses report for an individual or range of individuals
  • How to view the individual transaction items which have been paid
  • How to run the employment cost report for a cost centre of WBS account
  • How to run the employment cost report for an individual or range of individuals
  • Understand the terminology used in uBASE for expenses and employment cost expenditure
