The Internal Auditors
Like many Higher Education Institutions, the University of Sheffield contracts out its internal audit function. PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) has been providing Internal Audit services to the University from 1 August 2009.
They provide independent and objective assurance, designed to add value and improve the University's operations. PwC's work helps the University accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
PwC provide an independent appraisal function and service that reports directly to the University Audit Committee. PwC's work fully complies with the requirements of Government Internal Audit Standards, the HEFCE Audit Code of Practice and the professional, regulatory standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
