Stephanie awarded 2011 Geographical Association internship

The Blue Marble

Stephanie Milton, a second year BSc student, has been awarded this year's internship at The Geographical Association.

Her winning essay on 'thinking geographically' used the famous "Blue Marble" Apollo image of the Earth from space to argue for the importance and excitement of studying geography.

The judges (who included the GA's Chief Executive, David Lambert) commended her eloquent and passionate argument, showing the relevance of geographical understanding in addressing 'incomprehensible injustice' throughout the world. Stephanie will take up the internship in June, co-funded by The Geographical Association and the Department of Geography.
