Funding Opportunities for 2013

Funding is available under the following schemes:

ESRC White Rose Network Studentships

Research Network: Reshaping Multiculturalism through Cultural Practices
Applications are now open for three fully funded +3 doctoral studentships, within an ESRC-funded research network involving Sheffield, Leeds and York Universities.
The deadline for applications for these studentships is 15th March 2013.

ESRC Collaborative Studentship

Understanding 16-17 year old student progression and retention across Sheffield
Applications are now open for a fully funded ESRC collaborative PhD studentship in conjunction with Sheffield City Council and the University of Leeds.
The deadline for applications for these studentships is 27th March 2013.

University Prize and Faculty Scholarships (Human, Physical and Joint Physical-Human Geography)

University Prize Scholarships and Faculty Scholarships provide fees and an annual maintenance stipend of up to £16,000. For further information and details on how to apply please follow the links to the right. These are highly prestigious awards and, to be competitive, candidates will need to have/be clearly predicted a first-class undergraduate degree and/or a distinction at Masters-level. The deadline for application to these scholarship schemes is 1st February 2013. In order to be considered you must also please be sure to have fully completed your application for admission by 23rd January 2013, particularly ensuring that both references are included in this application by this date. ESRC Studentships

Studentships for Human Geography postgraduate research will be available in the department for 2013/14 entry, as part of the White Rose Social Sciences Doctoral Training Centre (WRSSDTC). The department also has a strong record of success in winning funding for students under the Advanced Quantitative Methods scheme.
