Scholarships

Funding is available under the following schemes:
University Prize and Faculty Scholarships (Human, Physical and Joint Physical-Human Geography)
University Prize Scholarships and Faculty Scholarships provide fees and an annual maintenance stipend of up to £16,000. These are highly prestigious awards and to be competitive, candidates will need to have/be clearly predicted a first-class undergraduate degree and/or a distinction at Masters-level. These scholarships have now been allocated for 2012/13.ESRC Studentships
Studentships for Human Geography postgraduate research are available in the department, as part of the White Rose Social Sciences Doctoral Training Centre (WRSSDTC). These include:
- 2 x ESRC open studentships (see link on the right)
- 1 x ESRC White Rose Network funded PhD Project: The changing Nature and Extent of Ethnic and Social Segregation Within
The department can also nominate students for ESRC Advanced Quantitative Methods studentships available within the WRSSDTC and welcomes applications suitable for this. These studentships have now been allocated for 2012/13.
