International Undergraduate Students

The Department of Geography's reputation for both international research and quality teaching attracts students and staff from all over the world. The 2012 QS World University Rankings places Geography at Sheffield 48th worldwide and 21st in Europe.

Entry requirements for our undergraduate courses

Generally, we require three subjects at GCE/VCE A Level or equivalent, usually including Geography. However, there are also country-specific details on entry requirements, and these are listed on our website at:

English language minimum requirements

All students wishing to study at the University of Sheffield must show that their English language is at a level which allows them to successfully complete their chosen course of study.

Typical minimum requirements are IELTS (International English Language Testing Service): an average of 7.0 or above with at least 6.5 in each component; TOEFL Paper-Based 600 or TOEFL Computer-Based 250.
