Newsletter

Every spring we publish our annual newsletter ("Update...") for undergraduate applicants. The newsletter details many of the news stories and developments connected to the Department of Geography that we think will interest our undergraduate applicants. We also try to convey a sense of what life is like as an undergraduate Geographer or Environmental Scientist at Sheffield. We hope you enjoy reading it!

Spring 2010

Our Spring 2010 issue features details of our first-ever Intro Week Welcome Walk and our newly-launched internship for Level 2 students at the Geographical Society's headquarters, as well as news from the Geography Society, research highlights of 2009, and details of recent successes in terms of the Department's research ranking and the University's ranking for undergraduate student experience.

Spring 2009

Our Spring 2009 newsletter featured the Department's Centenary celebrations and the (then) forthcoming Centenary Expedition to Svalbard, as well as information about the Geography Society, a report from the Dryland Environments California field class, the research highlights of 2010, plus news on the accreditation of our Environmental Science degrees by the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES).

Obtaining a copy in print

Applicants who receive an offer from us will receive a copy of the latest newsletter by post: please contact our Undergraduate Admissions Secretary if you fail to receive yours by the end of February.
