Modelling

Using complex geological datasets coupled with palaeoglaciological assumptions I attempt to better understand subglacial meltwater drainage and its significance for past ice sheets behaviour by numerically modelling groundwater flow beneath ice sheets.

The results yield important insights into the origin of deep buried valley systems (tunnel valleys) found across the European lowland and in the North Sea, and help evaluate continental-scale evolution of hydrological systems in glacial/interglacial cycles.
