Description  
Aims

This module aims to:

  1. provide students with an insight into current issues in the natural environmental sciences through the medium of research presentations and discussion
  2. foster and develop skills in the acquisition, processing and presentation of information
  3. develop skills in written and oral communication
Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module, a student will be able to demonstrate:

  1. an ability to synthesise the main points and wider ramifications of an oral presentation and discussion
  2. an ability to present a scientific problem to his/her peers
  3. an ability to research and distil the principal components of a scientific argument
  4. a critical understanding of current problems in natural environmental science
