At each seminar, each student will receive an individual mark according to the scale below, and at the end of the semester, the total will be divided by the total number of seminars minus the number of excused absences, and converted to the 100-point scale.

Unexcused absence; disruptive or disrespectful towards others.

Poor, irrelevant or non-existent contributions; little evidence of preparation.

Very high level of general effort; clear, relevant and structured contributions; demonstrating extensive preparation and a sound understanding of the material; constructive attitude; intelligent engagement with other students' arguments and respect for the contributions of others.
After conversion to the 100-point scale, a final mark for the oral component (which will contribute 17% of the whole, or 20% for HST112) will be awarded according to the following broad criteria:
