Research Topic

My current research explores generational identities and tensions in Britain in the earlier decades of the twentieth century. Particular focus is given to those who continued to identify themselves as a ‘Victorian’ long after the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.

I have previously been an associate tutor for the following courses at Sheffield University: HST112: Paths from Antiquity to Modernity and HST119: The Transformation of Britain, 1800 – Present.

 

Professional Affiliations

Member of the British Association of Victorian Studies, a multi-disciplinary organisation dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge about the Victorian period.

 

Other Information

In 2011 I acted as a sub-editor on the 'Dickens Journal Online' project (convened by the University of Buckingham). This role has involved the proofreading and re-formatting of 'Household Words', Charles Dickens' weekly periodical, in preparation for its forthcoming online access in 2012.
