University Receives the Athena SWAN Bronze Award

Athena SWAN awards recognise and celebrate good practice in recruiting, retaining and promoting women in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) in higher education and research. We’re proud to announce that the University has been awarded a bronze award, which acknowledges our University wide commitment to good practice in these areas.

This award follows our membership of the Athena SWAN Charter for Women in Science in April earlier this year and the launch of the Female Progression Action Plan.

The award will be presented to representatives of the University at an official ceremony at Birmingham Botanical Gardens on 29 September. The University of Sheffield is 1 of 19 new recipients of the bronze award announced in August 2009.
