Important information about ballots on industrial action called by the UCU

The University and College Union (UCU) has commenced three ballots of its members on industrial action, one concerning proposed changes to USS, one concerning the national HE claim for 2010–11 regarding job protection and pay, and the third relates to the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS), and is not being held at the University of Sheffield.

Even if you are not a member of UCU, these ballots and the possibility of industrial action may have an impact in your workplace. It is therefore important that you are aware of the background to this dispute, which is described below.
