Editing a Pattern
Once a pattern has been created you are able to access and amend it if a member of staff's pattern changes.
Once you have accessed Working Patterns select the staff member whose pattern you wish to change. You can use the filter row to help you, enter the staff members personnel number or surname into the relevant column and hit enter on your keyboard. You can use * as a wild card.
Once you have found the staff member you require, click on the blue square to the left of the pattern's start date and click “Change”.

|
You will then need to enter the start and end date of the pattern you are creating. Leaving the end date as 31/12/9999 will ensure the pattern will continue until further changes are required. The previous pattern will end the day before the new pattern starts. Clicking “OK” will take you to the screen below where the new pattern can be entered. If you need to add extra weeks to the individual's pattern click the "Add Week" button. |

When editing a pattern you can record the start time and hours per day (as above), or you can record the start and end time of a shift. To switch views click on the dropdown menu the the right of "Time entry options". When entering a shift which crosses midnight you will need to use the view shown above.
Once you have entered the shift times/hours before unpaid breaks click next to move to the next stage.
Enter Breaks
Once the hours before unpaid breaks have been entered you will need to enter the times of these breaks. This is done in 24 Hour format.

An additional break can be added using the "Number of Breaks" button. You should enter the start and end times of the break in 24 hour clock format.
Once the breaks have been recorded click “Next”, and provided the "Contractual Hours" is equal to "Average Hours" you can advance to the next stage. This will then display the “Confirmation Screen” shown below.

This allows you to check the proposed pattern and breaks before hitting the “Confirm” button to save the pattern.
Once the pattern is saved a batch programme will run overnight applying these changes to a calendar, therefore members of staff should not book annual leave against this pattern until the following day.
