Ten top tips to ensure a successful SRDS ‎Review - Reviewer

Before

  1. ‎Ensure you know who you are reviewing. Your Head of Department ‎will determine the reviewer/reviewee pairings.‎
  2. ‎Arrange a meeting with all your reviewees in plenty of time, giving ‎them at least two weeks notice of the date, time and location.‎
  3. ‎Check if your reviewees have seen the team/department objectives, ‎and if not, let them know how they can be accessed.‎
  4. ‎Prepare for the meeting by reading through the reviewee's SRDS ‎form, and begin to think about your feedback by considering the ‎reviewee's work over the last year, as well as what you think the ‎reviewee should be focussing on in the next 12 months.‎

During

  1. ‎Arrive on time.‎
  2. ‎Ensure the meeting is open and constructive, and encourage ‎dialogue between you and your reviewee. Try not to make ‎assumptions about your reviewee’s career aspirations and use the ‎SRDS meeting to discuss your reviewee’s career aspirations.‎
  3. ‎Address any issues raised in advance of or during the review ‎meeting.‎
  4. ‎Ensure that you and your reviewee have covered all the areas you ‎wanted to.‎

After

  1. ‎Set some time aside soon after the review meeting to complete the ‎reviewer's section of the SRDS form, and to take any further actions ‎agreed in the review meeting.‎
  2. ‎Arrange a mid-year review. This will give you and your reviewee a ‎chance to keep track of progress against the agreed objectives, and ‎to check the agreed objectives are still appropriate. ‎
