Training, Support & Communications - FAQs

Who do I contact if I would like to book on to e-Recruitment training?

e-Recruitment training is delivered centrally for Recruiters who will create Job Requisitions and process the hiring activities. Please contact the Business Solutions Helpdesk (e-Recruitment@sheffield.ac.uk, 0114 222 1606).

Once the system goes live what support will there be?

Your department's Recruiters should be your first point of contact for any recruitment issues. A list of trained Recruiters is available at http://www.shef.ac.uk/hr/recruitment/erecruitment/trainingattendees.html

Staff working within the recruitment process are also able to contact the Business Solutions Helpdesk on 0114 222 1606 or at
e-Recruitment@sheffield.ac.uk for any technical or processing issues with the system. Departments continue to liaise with their departmental HR Adviser/Assistant contacts and Faculty Finance Support contacts for non-system based recruitment issues e.g. grading of posts, funding questions, support drafting adverts, fixed-term contract issues etc.

In addition to the Helpdesk and departmental contacts, guidance notes, training manuals, system demonstrations and Frequently Asked Questions are available on the e-Recruitment web pages at http://www.shef.ac.uk/hr/recruitment/erecruitment

We only recruit occasionally so do we need to attend the training?

Yes – Even though you may recruit infrequently it is important that all users are trained and supported on e-Recruitment to ensure departments and job applicants can maximise the benefits of e-Recruitment.

Please contact Jenny Lloyd on 0114 222 2461, jenny.lloyd@sheffield.ac.uk for the next available dates for Recruiter training.

As we only recruit occasionally, I may have forgotten the content of the training course by the time I come to use the actual system, what should I do?

Don't worry - training manuals and system demonstrations are available on the e-Recruitment web pages if you just need to refresh your memory. If you feel you need additional support please contact the Business Solutions Helpdesk on 0114 222 1606, e-Recruitment@sheffield.ac.uk where we will be happy to either talk you through the details you are unsure of or come and support you in your department if it is more appropriate.

How long will the e-Recruitment training be and when will it happen?

The Recruiter training is hands-on system training. It is a one day training course which is delivered by the Business Solutions team.

Departmental Recruiters will provide guidance to their approvers and panel members.

What happens if our department needs more support after the training sessions?

If you feel that you need more support following your training course please contact the Business Solutions Helpdesk at 0114 222 1606, e-Recruitment@sheffield.ac.uk.
