Outcomes and payment

Heads of Department will be told in December the outcomes of the faculty panels, ‎and will also be given feedback on why the decisions were made. There is no appeal ‎against ECA decisions.‎

Departments (and faculties) may elect to announce the names of staff who have ‎received an ECA, however consent should be sought from staff before doing so.‎

Letters will be written to staff who have been awarded an ECA in January. The letter ‎details the value of their ECA, and their new point if they have received a ‎consolidated ECA. Staff receive their ECA with January´s pay.‎

Although the lump sum is non-superannuable, a facility is available for it to paid directly as additional voluntary contributions to your pension scheme. Please see the link on the right for details of this.

The value of the ECA is equivalent to the next increment due to the member of staff ‎for the job they were doing at the end of the year (31 December), and is pro-rated ‎for part-time staff using an average of the FTE over the 12 months leading to 31 ‎December.‎
