Professors in the Introductory Zone

Band I of the Professorial Pay Scheme includes an Introductory Zone: the first five points of the band to which a new professor would normally be promoted or appointed, if he or she had not been a professor before.

Within this zone, professors may be awarded an increase of one point per year on the recommendation of the Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor, following a review of their contribution.
