Faculty/Professional Services Panel

It will be for each Faculty and Professional Services to determine the approach taken by this panel, including membership any information on the DRP recommendations the panel members may wish to have available.

Each panel will be supported by a member of Human Resources.  When considering academic promotions, a member of Senate should be in attendance. Other cross-University representation is recommended when considering other promotion cases.

It is expected that the Faculty/Professional Services panels’ main responsibility will be to moderate across Departments and to provide a robust, constructive critical challenge to the decisions made at DRPs.

Provided on the Promotions Process page to download is a potential template that Faculty/Professional Services panels may wish to use to review the decisions taken by DRPs. This form is an example only and panels may choose to adapt it or to use some other source, or sources of information. It is recommended that Faculty HR Managers are involved in determining the nature of any documentation to be used by the panel.
