University of Sheffield Grading Scheme

These pages provide background information about the University of Sheffield Grading Scheme. The scheme was implemented in October 2005 and applies to all University staff, excluding Professorial level and clinical staff. The scheme is underpinned by job evaluation.

The University of Sheffield Grading Scheme is a nine grade structure. Each grade is made up of a number of spinal points divided into two ranges, the normal range and the exceptional range.
