Headstart

Headstart is the term used for those parts of the induction programme for new Heads of Department and ‘Heads elect’, which are organised centrally.

All new Heads of Department / Heads Elect will be invited to attend a welcome presentation with the Vice Chancellor and the Director of Human Resources, followed by an evening meal with other members of the University Executive Board. This is normally held in late spring / early summer each year. In addition to this, there will also be one-to-one meetings with the appropriate faculty representatives from Human Resources, Planning and Governance Services and Finance.

Human Resources (HR)

Planning and Governance Services (PGS)

Each faculty has a dedicated Planning Support Officer (PSO), who are able to offer early support and briefings as necessary. You can contact your PSO at any time (prior to taking over as Head of Department or afterwards) for support. Tailored Faculty Headstart Sessions
