Dr Estelle Stubbs
HRI Research Fellow and Research Associate on the Medieval Scribes Project
Estelle Stubbs' area of research is the codicology, palaeogpraphy and provenance of late Middle English manuscripts (1350-1500). She is currently a Research Fellow at the Humanities Research Institute working for the University of York on the AHRC Medieval Scribes Project.
Estelle Stubbs began work in the Humanities Research Institute in 1994. For the six years until 2000 she worked as Transcriber and Researcher on the Canterbury Tales Project under Professor Norman Blake. From 200 until 2002 Estelle worked for the British Library on the Cotton Manuscripts Project and for the Institute of Historical Research on the digitisation and encoding of the first Commons Journal (from Edward VI to Charles I). From 2002 until 2007 she worked as a researcher for Andrew Prescott in the Centre for Research into Freemasonry.
