The University of Sheffield
IGS British Branch Meeting 2009

Information for presenters

Oral presentations

Oral sessions will take place in the Ron Johnson Research Room and will each have their own chairperson (to be announced). Powerpoint facilities will be available (please bring your file on CD or USB). Presenting authors should make themselves known to the chairperson prior to their session; the chairperson will assist with uploading Powerpoint files to the system. Talks have been allocated 15 minutes, but presenting authors should aim to keep their talk to a maximum of 10 minutes to allow time for discussion. Slide and overhead projection facilities will be provided only if requested in advance of the meeting (please contact igs2009@sheffield.ac.uk as soon as possible).

Poster presentations

Posters will be on display throughout the meeting and there will be opportunities to view these at lunchtimes, refreshment breaks and during the reception prior to the AGM and annual dinner on Wednesday. Delegates presenting posters should prepare a two-minute oral ‘advertisement’ for their poster to be given during a special session prior to the reception on Wednesday. Please note that the poster boards will be portrait and will measure 180 x 120 cm.

Awards for the best student poster and oral presentation will be made at the end of the meeting.
