Welcome to two new members of staff
The department is delighted to announce the arrival of two new members of staff.
Miss Julie Bagshaw
Julie joined the department on 1 August 2013 to work as a Research Technician in the Academic Unit of Dermatology's internationally recognised skin barrier research laboratory. Julie will be assisting senior researchers and postgraduate students with both clinical and laboratory based research and will have regular contact with volunteers enrolled on the skin barrier studies.
Dr Rebecca Roberts
Rebecca joined the department on 8 July 2013 to take up a position as Postdoctoral Research Associate working alongside Dr Lisa Parker in the Academic Unit of Respiratory Medicine. Rebecca's post is funded by an MRC grant awarded to Lisa and will focus on determining the role of autophagy in regulating the response of lung epithelial cells to viral infection, both in health and during disease, identifying how autophagy may be involved during viral infection and in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, using a variety of in vitro approaches. Rebecca joins us from the Babraham Institute, Cambridge, where she was employed as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist.
