Laptops for loan in the IC

We have a number of laptops available for loan in the Information Commons. You can book a laptop through the myRooms&Resources facility in MUSE.

Booking Guidelines

• You may book up to 2 days in advance.
• Each booking cannot exceed 4 hours.
• You can only make one booking per day per user.
  

They are not to be taken out of the IC, or left unattended, during your session.

Booking Period

• Monday to Thursday, 09:15 - 20:15
• Friday, 10:15 - 20:15
• Saturday to Sunday, 12:15 - 17:15

Using the laptop

At the start of your session, go to the Information Desk on Level 1, where you will need to show us your UCard and sign the laptop out. Each laptop will allow you to:

• connect to the wireless network
• print to our printers
• save to your network filestore (U drive), or USB stick
• use Microsoft Office software

At the end of your session, please return it to staff on the Level 1 Desk.

Software available

The laptops don't have all the software that is available on the IC computers, but they do have the following:

• Windows OS
• Internet Explorer
• Firefox
• Microsoft Office
• Adobe Reader
• Windows Media Player
• MATLAB
• SPSS 19
• Flash Player
