Internal Communications

How does it Work?

The e-newsletter system is provided by a company called dotMailer. It is based around a series of templates. These templates normally consist of an emailer, which is what you send to people; a microsite, which is what your audience connects to from your emailer; and a story page for your content.

As the user you populate these templates in much the same way as you would a website, inserting the content and links which enable your reader to find their way around your publication. Once this is done, you send out your emailer which connects to your microsite and your publication.

We have created this five minute video to show you more:

Reporting

As well as offering an easy and professional way of communicating with your audience, the system also gives you an extensive reporting suite to monitor just how well your communications are being received.

Using this facility you will be able to get an up-to-the-minute picture of just how well read your publication is. In addition, the suite will enable you to perform data analysis to help you tailor your publication to your audience´s interests.

Like the rest of the system, the reporting suite is very simple and easy to use.

Your newsletter, your way

The e-newsletter system already contains a generic template which you can use for your publication. However, if this template isn´t suitable, then the Internal Communications team will work with you to make sure you get the ideal newsletter design for your audience.

We will project manage the production of a design to your own specific requirements, within University branding guidelines. Costs for this service can vary, but the Internal Communications team will work to try and get you the best design for your money.
