Doris Ada Onu
Doris graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2008 with a Masters in Public Health (MPH).
The choice of Sheffield for post graduate study followed a consideration of important factors like ranking of the school, cost and the city itself; its nature and safety. The decision has since proved to be one of the best I have made in my lifetime.
I am studying public health. The course has been didactic and everything I dreamed it would be. The teaching methods have especially taught me how to critically appraise and be logical in reasoning.
Sheffield is a lovely city. The people are a homely and friendly bunch. I have hardly had a dull moment in Sheffield. There are many constructive things to do in one´s spare time. When I am not studying, I stroll to the parks to relax, visit the lovely shops in the city centre or simply discuss with the friends I have made from all over the world, learning more about their countries.
Leaving my family was the most difficult aspect of coming to Sheffield but the experience has proved to be worth it. To prospective University of Sheffield Students, I say: `Get ready for an experience of a lifetime.´
