Visa information for students from China
All Chinese nationals who wish to study in the UK will need to apply for a study visa before they are eligible to enter the UK and begin their programme of study.
You can receive visa counselling from any of the official representatives of the University of Sheffield in China. The counsellors will advise on all the necessary paperwork and documentation you will need in order to apply for your visa.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number
Once you have accepted and met the conditions of your offer of a study place, we will contact you to by email to let you know how to get your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number. This replaces the previous system using Visa Letters. You will need to use this CAS number in your application for a study visa to come to Sheffield.
Please note that for postgraduate students, a tuition fee deposit of £1000 is required before we will email you about getting your CAS. Once you have an unconditional accepted offer, you will be informed of how to pay your deposit.
