The University of Sheffield is academically strong in almost all disciplines. I was also attracted to the university by the fact that the city of Sheffield was ranked as the safest and cheapest city to live in. In addition, Sheffield University was the most supportive during the application procedure, providing me with all the information I needed to know.

Sheffield was a more developed city than I imagined. At the same time, the city retains many of its green areas as parks, which made a good living environment. Sheffield was also quite a convenient city to live in; everything was within walking distance as the campus is within the city. The weather, however, was not that nice. It was a typical British weather as is commonly recognised.

I studied for an MSc in Brain Imaging & Cognitive Neuroscience degree and I found this course intensive and informative. As I intend to do a PhD afterwards, I surely benefited from studying in this course. Because the course had only a small group of students, we could have direct interaction with our teachers, in other words, teachers were more accessible to us.

In my spare time, if I had some course work to do, I worked on that. If not, I went out to the city centre browsing around in shops. I sometimes played tennis with my friends at the university´s sports centre. When the weather was not good, I spent my time doing netsurfing.

The most difficult thing when I made applications to UK universities was to know whether I was applying to the right course of study. I needed to do much internet searching to determine whether the course suited my academic interests. It was also crucially important to consider financial matters. Coming to study in the UK requireed some investment.
