Sheffield Azerbaijan Society

Sheffield Azerbaijan Society (SAS) was established in 2009 for individuals with Azerbaijani origin studying and/or working in Sheffield. The society is also open to everybody who is interested in engaging with and learning more about Azerbaijan.

The society has participated in the Language Festival and taught Azerbaijani language to students of other nationalities. In March, they organise a celebration of Novruz, the most significant holiday for Azerbaijani people. The society's members also have a football team and hold weekly matches.
