Before arriving in Sheffield, I graduated with a Bachelor´s of Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2007 and then worked in the oil and gas related fields. I chose to study at the University of Sheffield because of its reputation in the engineering field. The University has a good ranking, good facilities and is located in a good city. Also, there was wide range of research in renewable types of energy, which is my interest.

The most enjoyable thing about studying my subject at the University of Sheffield is reaching to that extent of knowledge I expected, improving skills required at work and finding friends. Also, the subject was exactly what I wanted to be. The most valuable aspect of the course is that the theory brought life to practical concepts.

The teaching methods at the University are really effective. Having lots of lectures, course work and presentations enhanced my knowledge and skills dramatically.

The most important benefit of an education at the University of Sheffield was gaining enough skills for the jobs I wish to find. In addition, my knowledge about the environment and also different forms of renewable energies enhance dramatically.

Experiencing real student life is completely possible at the University of Sheffield, finding many friends and having fun along with academic achievements. I finished my course in September and frankly achieved what I wished. Enhancing communication skills with foreigners was the most important achievement for me.

The advice I would give to prospective students is for them to come and experience studying at the University of Sheffield. It is a sort of experience they won´t forget. I must mention that there will be good and bad days, but they will be definitely happy when they finish their study here.
