Khashayar Mohammadian
Khashayar graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2011 with an MSc(Eng) in Architectural Engineering Design.
I started my undergraduate degree in a joint program run by Amirkabir & Birmingham University in Iran but after finishing my second year I decided to transfer to Sheffield. I have been living in Sheffield for almost 4 years now. Having finished my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, I decided to do a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering Design which is jointly offered by the Departments of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The University of Sheffield was one of the very few universities in Europe to offer this degree when I started and has definitely not let me down in any sense.
I chose Sheffield both because of its great academic reputation in my field and because it’s a great city to live in as a student. Sheffield has the best library facilities in the UK including the Information Commons complex which is open 24/7 and has anything you can imagine, from a nice and cosy café, to couches that you can sleep on and even a shower!!!!! But that’s not all, we have the best Student’s union in the UK ,a Ski Village and a lot more...
During my free time, I work out in the gym or swim. The sports societies in the university are very active and you can find anything you want at the Goodwin Sports Centre. I also like to travel a lot and have been on many of the trips organised by the university. Last year I went on a trip to the French Alps with the snowboarding society and enjoyed it a lot.
My advice to the prospective students is to get involved in the activities happening around the university and make the most from the multicultural atmosphere in Sheffield.
