Sonal's Web Diary

University is officially over. I had to move out of my hall, Ranmoor, on Saturday June 9th and it was quite a sad affair. Most of my friends moved out on Saturday or were already on their way home via plane. Saturday was a day of goodbye hugs and promises of “there is always msn messenger and facebook!” The other girls can always meet up with each other because they are all in England, but for me it was “see you in September then”. That is one of the things about being international, when you are abroad you miss your friends and family at home and when you are at home you miss your friends abroad. You can’t win either way!

I am still in England at the moment staying at my friends’ house in Kent for a few days before I fly back to Tokyo. We went to Cambridge, which is a very pretty and picturesque city and then on Wednesday we went to London for the day. We visited Camden Market and I absolutely loved it. Camden Market has unique and different clothes to those in the shops, so if you are looking for something original Camden is the place to go. It is also a place where you can haggle over the price something which is not done in normal shops. Thursday took us to Thorpe Park which is one of the amusement parks in the south of England. It was really fun with many thrilling rides!

I also found out that I am officially a second year medic. About 10 days after the exam the results came out and as far as I know all my friends passed as well so there was much cause for celebration!

Looking back upon the year I can honestly say I had a great time and learnt a lot about myself, it was a learning experience for all. 1 year down, 4 more to go!
