National employers scout for regions top graduates

Prestigious national employers have been exhibiting at the University of Sheffield for the Yorkshire Autumn Graduate Recruitment Fair. The Fair, which is now in its eighth year, was held on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 November 2008, from 10.30am until 4pm.

The two day event, which was jointly hosted by the careers services at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, took place at the University of Sheffield´s Octagon Centre. Final year students and graduates got the chance to meet with different employers each day and access up-to-date information about the graduate job market.

There were vacancies regionally, nationally and internationally, in a range of fields including retail, engineering, business and management, IT, and accounting and finance. Students and graduates had the opportunity to find out more information about prospective employers, to ask questions in an informal environment, and to find out how to apply for vacancies.

Michelle Dexter, Fairs Manager, said: "This Fair is a great opportunity for students and graduates to find out about a wide range of jobs, not only in Yorkshire but nationally and internationally as well. Visitors to the Fair can meet a different set of employers each day and can ask questions in an informal environment. The companies attending are all actively recruiting and will be talking about the positions available and providing information about how you can apply for the roles."
