New scheme to allow students to work in the UK for two years after graduation

International students joining Sheffield on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree will be eligible to remain in the UK to work for up to 2 years after graduation.

The Post Study Work Scheme will be introduced on 30 June 2008 and will replace the current International Graduates Scheme. At the moment, graduates are granted 12 months maximum leave, but this will increase to 24 months.

The change will benefit many students choosing to come to England to study. Previously international graduates in the UK were encouraged to find work under the International Graduates Scheme. However, this scheme was only for up to one year. It is expected that students who took advantage of this scheme will be able to extend their stay under the new scheme.

Our graduates' academic excellence and personal transferable skills makes them highly sought after by the world's top employers, who target the University of Sheffield for recruitment.
