Knowledge and Information Management Research Group

The Knowledge and Information Management Research Group is part of the UK's No. 1 Information School. The group has a strong interdisciplinary flavour and draws on theoretical perspectives from organisational and sociological theory, strategic management, information science, information systems and information technology.

The KIM group research is clustered around the following areas:

  • Strategic approaches including absorptive capacity, market orientation and intellectual capital valuation;
  • Behavioural and social practice approaches including boundary spanning practices, social networks and communities and virtual interaction;
  • Systems approaches including KM systems and tools, business intelligence and requirements analysis, implementation and evaluation.
