At the University of Sheffield we strive for academic excellence that has meaning and impact in the world. And in the Information School we know that helping people to use and understand information better means creating a more equal and open global society. While you work towards one of our degrees you could be exploring business information systems or open source software, probing internet censorship or improving public services by developing more efficient and ingenious ways of managing and using information and data. And what about your own future? Our courses are designed to draw on a wide range of disciplines in addition to information science, such as management, psychology, economics, computing and sociology. As a learner you'll develop a broad-based perspective combining insights from both science and social science. By the time you graduate you'll have nurtured many invaluable transferable skills which can help you reach the top – whatever career you choose. |
