Top journalism honour for Sheffield graduate

Sheffield Journalism graduate Georgina Turner has won a prestigious Periodicals Publishing Association New Journalist of the Year Award.

At a ceremony in London she was named New Online Journalist of the Year. Georgina, who has worked since she graduated for the Guardian’s respected website Guardian Unlimited, was chosen from a short list of seven, rivals coming from Conde Nast, Nature, Reed and EMAP.

Georgina was top BA Journalism Studies graduate of the year in 2003, winning the Press Association Prize for her outstanding first class degree.

Her reaction to getting her Online Journalist award: “It was a bit of a shock; but a nice one.”
