I spent my first undergraduate year at the Universität Potsdam studying French law and German law, a program of the Universität Potsdam and Université Paris X. I changed the course of my studies after the first year and moved to Paris. I hold a Bachelor´s degree in "Administration and international affairs" (Administration et affaires internationales") with a focus on European law and business from the Université Paris XII, France.
I then decided to specialise in communications for my Master´s degree and spent the first year at the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris specialising one the hand in communication strategies of companies and public bodies (gaining practical experience through internships at the French ministry for economy) and writing my Master thesis about intercultural nonverbal communication contrasting Asia and Western Europe, on the other hand.
It takes two years to get a Master´s degree in most European countries and so I spent my second year at the Université Paris XII from which I hold a degree in "European public and political communication" (Communication publique et politique en France et en Europe").
I started my PhD on the European Commission´s communication strategy in September 2009, with Jackie Harrison as my supervisor.
I am rep of the PGR students of the journalism department and I chair the student led Faculty of Social Sciences Staff Students Group. I am also one of the two student reps of the PGR Quality Assurance Task & Finish Group.
